Independent Living Rehabilitation Services

Independent Living Rehabilitation Services (ILRS) Counselors help people with disabilities to live and function more independently at home and in their communities.

The program helps participants to:

  • Define their independent living goals,

  • Learn independent living skills,

  • Advocate for themselves,

  • Connect with peer support, counseling, and mentoring,

  • Link with services and resources to help achieve their goals.

The Arizona Governor's Council on Spinal and Head Injuries provides support to for independent living services for individuals with spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries.

ILRS is part of the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA), within the Arizona Department of Economic Security.
